As the pandemic wore on, I had my friends D'Vonne and Norman come over to record this song about going against the grain.
lyrics
We don’t talk about it, though we may have tried many times before
Keep dancing around it, the answer’s in our hearts not on the floor
Live with or live without it, no matter what you’ve got always need some more
If we can’t find a way around it, what the hell we talking for?
Kicking, screaming on the floor
There’s too much darkness not to shine a light
And far too many people living for a fight
Big picture is hard to see
No matter what one believes
Through all the catastrophe
We losing our empathy
And just because that’s how it’s been it doesn’t make it right
These suppression tactics are nothing new, they’re old as time itself
Realize the fact is enough of us are sick of living hell
We all need more practice standing up for those who need our help
If you’re free of shackles are you helping somebody else?
Leave our differences on the shelf
